izzy sazak (they/them), is a turkish-colombian-american multimedia artist, writer, theater/film maker, organizer, singer and teaching artist living on Lenni Lenape Land (philadelphia). they are a member of Applied Mechanics, philadelphia’s vanguard radical theater company, and the lead singer of their resident punk band, The Bandits. izzy specializes in devised theater and collaborative processes. they are a world builder and a steward of care-centered, non-hierarchical practices. izzy moves through the world as an emergent, queer, non-binary, eco-feminist-anarchist whose politic is rooted in Indigenous, Black and Brown and Disabled philosophies of justice and liberation for all. their art and process is a practice in decolonizing; exploring belonging as a radical form of resistance and community building. they utilize the power of story to create new folklores and science fictions that expand one's sense of self in order to ignite action and foster connection to land and neighbor. izzy holds a BA in Drama from The University of Virginia ('11), and an MFA in Devised Performance from The University of the Arts/Pig Iron School for Advanced Performance ('18).

I am also a facilitator; trained to help groups hone their values, systems and creative processes to improve work outcomes and working relationships. I can design and facilitate retreats and work sessions to help groups identify their mission and values, make difficult decisions, and shift the work culture from one that is fraught and imbalanced, to one that is harmonious, communicative and enriching for all.
